AMELIA Restaurant, Harbour City, Kowloon, Hong Kong

SLINC Limited invited a collaboration with MSA Ltd to create a new and innovative dining experience for Amelia Restaurant in the heart of Hong Kong Harbour. With a Michelin star chef at the helm, we wanted to celebrate and highlight the culinary expertise of the chef to create the ultimate dining experience.

An open kitchen showcases the food and creates an interaction of senses throughout the restaurant. Wanting to break free of the usual open kitchen feel, a striking black and white pattern tile was used throughout both the kitchen and bar area in order to ensure these areas are very much a part of the integral design and keeping an inviting and friendly ambience.

The use of quite humble materials such as graphic tiles, terrazzo, natural timbers and terracotta help to create a modern illusion of space, this together with accents of black steel and touches of copper provide a chic ambience throughout with a European touch.

Large pivoting bespoke panels create a strong vertical element and allow the space to become more cosy and create semi private dining areas. A small bar area at the water side of the restaurant brings a casual warmth and inviting atmosphere.
